Q: What does Multimedia mean?
A: Multimedia is the use of words, graphics, sounds, and films to create a program where the user can interact
with the information displayed while viewing the presentation on their personal computer.
Q: What's the difference between a conventional business card and a CD Business Card?
A: A typical paper based business card displays only your contact details on the front. They are easily lost,
damaged or filed amongst hundreds of other cards your customers have. However, the CD Business Card is unique because
you can present both your contact details and company information at the same time. While the outside seems like
a normal business card, inside it displays an imaginative variety of information, through the combination of multimedia
technologies, in an enjoyable and interactive atmosphere.
Q:How can the new cards help me? What can it do?
A: There is no doubt the CD Business Cards are powerful, impressive and memorable. It is the future of the
current conventional paper business card and will soon be needed and used by every business around the world as
a paperless and advanced business information and communication tool. This phenomenal marketing device is limited
only by your imagination. You may want to use it for: Applications, Examples, Information Technology, World Wide

Works in almost any CD-ROM drive
The eoz CDCarD is specifically designed to work in any normal CD-ROM or DVD drive in a desktop or laptop computer.
There are two types of CD-ROM drives. One is found in laptop computers and portable CD Audio players. This type
of CD-ROM drive accepts the CDCarD by pushing it by hand onto the pin locking central spindle. The second CD-ROM
drive is found in desktop computers. In general the CD-ROM bay slides in and out. Once a CDCarD is placed in the
bay and the bay retracted, the CDCarD is automatically loaded onto the central spindle.
Works in a PC or Mac
The CDCarD can operate in any desk top computer CD-ROM drive (PC or Macintosh) which has both a 120mm track
for regular disks and an 80mm track for mini disks - this encompasses almost all CD-ROM drives. Once loaded the
CDCarD spins and plays just like a normal CD-ROM. Data is read from the centre outwards.
 |
Align markers with the mini-disk area to load
Four positioning markers on the face of the eoz CDCarD orientate placement at the edges of the CD-ROM drive minidisc
area. The minidisc area is common to almost all CD-ROM drives and so the CDCarD can be used in almost any computer. |
Non-slip stoppers ensure reliable loading
Four low profile silicon pads or non-slip stoppers on the digital surface of the CDCarD act as brakes, holding
the CDCarD in place as the CD-ROM bay closes. CD-ROM bays tend to shut very quickly and come to a stop very abruptly.
This action often dislodges other cards. The non-slip stoppers of eoz CDCarDs ensure reliable, hassle-free loading
- time after time. |
 |
Slight humming sound no cause for concern
With some CD-ROM drives you will hear a low humming sound coming from the drive. This is simply the CDCarD chopping
the air in the drive. This also occurs with standard CD-ROMs to a lesser degree. The occurrence of the humming
sound varies from one drive manufacturer to another. The symmetrical shape of eoz CDCarDs and the flat digital
surface profile keeps vibration and noise to a minimum
When not to use
The CDCarD can not be used with slot or cassette/caddy loading CD-ROM drives like those found in cars.
What are CD Business Cards?

CD Business Cards (General Questions)
What is the basic difference between a CD-ROM
Card (Replicated)
and a "CD-R Card (Recordable)?
The ROM card is replicated the same as a regular 5" CD with silk screen on-body print. It is not a viable
option for order quantities of under 500 cards The high cost of orders below 500 units is primarily due to the
cost of glass mastering.
The CD-R card is a write once disc, but has the advantage of coping with smaller quantities, and offers a more
cost effective method of updating customers on a regular basis with current information. FocusMove.com offers a
Personalised CD-R service that includes "Burning", Inkjet Printing, packaging and programming (if necessary).
How does it play - if it is not round?
The unique design allows it to fit into any standard CD-ROM drive. It fits snugly into the tray and plays just
like a regular CD. It does not have to be round, but it does have to have edges that touch the rim of the 80mm
tray in your CD-ROM / DVD unit. The oblong card has a moulded 80mm rim on the underside of the card. We DO NOT
supply cards with punched out pins or shaped CD's, due to the danger of them breaking in the computer drive tray.
They also have a tendency to fly around like " an airplane's propeller" - and therefore do not work.
The Saddle and Square Business Cards work perfectly in 99% of CD drives.
How much do they weigh?
Approximately half the weight of a normal 5" CD - about 1/3 of an ounce (9 grams). Perfect weight for sending
through the post.
What packaging is available?
There are many different types of packaging available, the most popular being the clear PVC wallet. Although the
"new" Crystal Jewel Case is a very sexy piece of kit. We stock all formats as well as designing and creating
new concepts for clients.
Will my Card work in all CD-ROM players?
Yes if the CD-ROM drive tray has a slot for a 80mm CD. But the card will definitely NOT work in a Car CD player
or CD stacker or Jukebox. The simple answer "is almost all computer machines".
What is the total manufacturing (replication) time?
From order placement and receipt of 2 CD-R's (1 for data & 1 for on-body design) to delivery is usually 15
business days (3 weeks) Although we can probably put them through faster depending on the time of year. We will
work closely with you to ensure your deadlines are achieved.
What if I have my own data content?
Supply us with a working, virus free CD-R and we do the rest.
What if I don't have my own content?
We have an associate Multimedia company who specialises in cutting edge technology that is required to author a
CD-ROM or CD-R. They will handle everything from concept to supplying FocusMove with the completed CD-R of your
data for replication to begin.
What if I don't have my own on-body design?
We have design facilities at you disposal at a competitive cost - They will work with you to ensure you have the
design fits your marketing needs and within budgetary requirements.
What speed can I write my CD-R?
For the highest quality recording we recommend you use 8x recording speed, although it is possible to write up
to 12x on our cards (your choice).
Can I print on any CD-R?
No, only cards that have an inkjet printable surface. FocusMove offer a choice of two specially adapted Epson printers
that print high resolution photo-quality graphics onto printable 5" CD-R's and CD-R Business Cards. The Inkjet
printers offer 1440dpi print resolution.
Can I print labels to stick onto the CD-R business card?
You can now print onto "Photo Quality High Gloss Labels" for all three Business Cards. We also
stock a unique "Easy to Use" Label Applicator with a Free CorelDraw Template to accurately apply the
labels. |
